Newcastle Pictures
Here are pictures from my walk around town ...
The Millennium footbridge has two tracks - one as you'd expect, the other a steel grating that definitely seemed bouncier.
While I was on my walk I asked two authorities (the Tourist Information centre and the hotel concierge) for a nearby pub that's family-friendly and has a good selection of real ales. Both recommended this place on the quayside. We checked it out. It was rubbish. There wasn't a single real ale on tap, just cheap lagers, and the same bland fried foods you can get anywhere. It was part of a chain. We ended up trying an Italian place, but it was disappointing also. I guess it's the curse of trying to find good dining on a budget in a tourist area.
We're all quite tired now and will likely get extra sleep tonight. We're looking forward to our ferry ride tomorrow.
