We have started our preparations for moving this summer. The biggest project will be the remodeling of the downstairs bath; that begins on Tuesday the 28th. We are meeting with our realtor next week also. I have about three weeks left in a very busy school term, and then my schedule should ease up a bit, allowing me to get started on packing up the house and preparing for the big move over the pond!

It's Official!

On Friday Margo accepted a social work position in Essex County. She is to begin late July. We don't know exactly where or when yet; we'll share those details as we get them. We expect to be there between one and two years.

Our family has been discussing and planning this short-term move from the United States to the United Kingdom for several months; accepting this position makes it real. Now we can begin planning and preparing in earnest.

With this blog, we'll be sharing details of our preparations, but more importantly, once we've landed in the UK, we want to use this to share our perceptions as well as share photos of our travels in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Other than Mike's ten days in Sweden years ago, none of us has spent much time living abroad, so this is an adventure we are very excited about and looking forward to.
